Class C Motorhomes are built on a truck or van chassis with an attached cab section, while Class Bs are built within the dimensions of a customized van. Class C motorhomes feature many of the luxuries of your home, but they are easier to maneuver than a Class A.

The principle reason Airstreams are expensive is the Aluminium body they are so famous for. The shell of an airstream is made from a high quality “aircraft grade” aluminum alloy riveted over a steel frame. This is insulated and then an inner shell of aluminum is riveted on from the inside.

First off, fiberglass is much easier to maintain. Weight and aerodynamics are two important factors of gas mileage, and fiberglass trailers are generally lighter than aluminum sided campers. Fiberglass models are more likely to have a streamlined shape, which provides better aerodynamics as well.

The short answer to this is no, you do not have to stop at a weigh station. A weigh station is only for commercial vehicles that are hauling freight. If you are worried about your RV’s weight and want to make sure that you’re not overloaded, you can pull into a weigh station and get weighed, but it’s not required.
