How long does The Jacobite Train take? The train journey takes around 2 hours for each leg, with a one and a half hour stop off in Mallaig before the return journey. If you intend to complete the return journey you should allow around 6 hours for the day trip.

The Glenfinnan Viaduct is a railway viaduct on the West Highland Line in Glenfinnan, Inverness-shire, Scotland. Located at the top of Loch Shiel in the West Highlands of Scotland, the viaduct overlooks the Glenfinnan Monument and the waters of Loch Shiel.

The Falls and the Ledges were pretty sites. If you are into the history of the canal/lock system of that area, this would be a place for you to visit… good exhibits and knowledgeable people on hand. If you lived in the area, this would be a wonderful park to utilize frequently.

West Coast Railways, operators of ‘The Jacobite’, provided the steam engine and carriages for the ‘Hogwarts Express’ as seen in the ‘Harry Potter’ films including ‘The Philosopher’s Stone’ and others in this wonderful series of films. Some of the carriages of ‘The Jacobite’ are those used in the ‘Harry Potter’ films.

With 4 hours spent on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad trip, I had roughly another 3½ hours in this area to get around to the other locations visited. It was a comfortable pace. I didn’t feel rushed. Many parts of this park are wheelchair accessible.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad offers excursions year-round, with seasonal changes in train schedules.
