Officially is set to 15 feet. For backyard games 5 paces works fine. By using vertical pieces about 12” in length after the T’s are assembled it gives a spacing of about 13”. I chose to go with 3/4” PVC for durability reasons.

Instructions:

1. Step 1: Cut your PVC pipe to size.

3. Step 3: Paint your PVC pipe rungs and golf balls your desired colors.
4. Step 4: Cut your nylon rope into 20” pieces.
5. Step 5: Once all of your paint has dried on your PVC pipes, assemble your ladder.

Ladder toss (also known as ladder ball, monkey ball, ladder golf, ball rope, goofy balls, testicle toss, cowboy golf, and hillbilly golf and other names) is a lawn game played by throwing bolas (two balls connected by a string) onto a ladder.

Washer boards and boxes are typically positioned on flat surfaces about 20 feet apart. If you would like to give yourself and your friends more of a challenge, you can space them out even farther. Washer toss can be played in teams of one or two players.

Points are cancelled where the bolas of the opponent land on the same rung. For example, if Player A throws onto the middle rung he or she scores 2 points, but when the opponent lands on that same rung, the scores cancel, netting to 0. Points only cancel on the same rung.

The objective of Ladder Golf is to achieve a total score of 21 points and no more. You score by tossing your bolas onto the rungs of the ladder. A bola hanging off the top rung is worth three points, off the middle rung is worth two, and off the bottom rung is worth one point.
