Today in church our pastor taught on the Bible scripture, “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10. “Be still’ means to stop striving, stop fighting, relax. It also means to “put your hands down”. Sometimes we put our hands up to defend ourselves from all that life can bring our way.

James 2:10 declares, “For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it” (ESV). God’s Law reveals how all people have sinned against God and are deserving of the fullness of His judgment.

The Bible warns the impenitent and unbelieving and gives comfort to those who acknowledge their sins and look to Christ and His cross. The Bible was given us to teach us the way of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and to guide us in living for Him.

God’s Word is fully sufficient to prepare us for everything the Bible commands us to do. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to transform us into Christ-likeness. It is fully sufficient for life and truth transference. Fourth, we study to understand God’s character and attributes.

Biblical studies is the study of the Bible. Biblical studies also includes study of the cultures in which the human biblical writers lived as well as study of various books which contribute to a broader textual understanding of our English Bible.

Something “of, relating to, or proceeding directly from God or god” is divine. It can be capitalised if you mean to refer to a specific god, and to my eye Godly is less obtrusive than Divine, which looks a bit like the old convention of capitalising personified nouns.
