Using a cotton pad or swab, apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to the board where permanent marks are present. As noted above, hand sanitizer or nail polish remover containing alcohol will also work for this purpose. Using your chosen substance, rub away the unwanted ink with circular or back and forth motions.

Line is a mark with greater length than width. Shape is a closed line. Shapes can be geometric, like squares and circles; or organic, like free-form or natural shapes. Shapes are flat and can express length and width.

Space The element of art that refers to the emptiness or area around or within objects. Positive space refers to the part of the artwork that takes up space.

The whiteboard feature allows you to share a whiteboard that you can annotate on with others. To use the whiteboard: Once you have joined the meeting, click on Share Screen. It will then be stored in the Zoom folder as ‘whiteboard.

Annotation allows you to draw on a shared screen, and Whiteboard allows you to write on a blank screen everyone can see. To annotate, select the Annotate tool while sharing your screen. This option will bring up a new toolbar with a variety of ways to doodle on your screen.

on the “Chat” panel, click on the three dots in the bottom right, and then select your chat settings. Turn off annotation: You can disable the annotation feature in your Zoom settings to prevent people from writing all over a screen share/whiteboard.

Enabling annotation for meetings

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
2. In the navigation panel, click Account Management then Account Settings.
3. Click the Meeting tab.
4. Under In Meeting (Basic), verify that Annotation is enabled.
5. If the setting is disabled, click the toggle to enable it.

The whiteboard is available for all Zoom users, including paid and free accounts. To find it, you’ll need to log into your Zoom account to begin. Then, from the homepage, start a meeting. In the meeting, you’ll see the option “Share Screen” on the menu bar at the bottom.

When you are sharing a screen, click on the Annotate option on the toolbar to see who had drawn or annotated anything. A new toolbar will open. Now, click on Select. Then, select the drawing or hover your mouse over the respective drawings to reveal the creator.

To annotate while viewing someone else’s shared screen, select View Option from the top of the Zoom window, and then choose Annotate. A toolbar appears with all your options for annotating, including text, draw, arrow, and so forth.
