Find and click on the folder or files you wish to attach, then hit “Open” and you should see the attachment added to your message. In the most recent versions of browsers like Chrome and Firefox, you can also simply drag and drop files into Gmail’s Compose window upload an attachment.

More than One Solution: Reply with Attachments in Outlook

1. Click the email containing the attachment.
2. Right click on the attachment, and click on ‘Select All’.
3. Now your attachment or attachments will be selected, right click on them, and select ‘Copy’.
4. Hit reply in the email message.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app .

Sending an attachment

Another essential app for opening email attachments is WinZip (Figure B). WinZip has been around forever, starting life as a utility for opening ZIP files on Windows-based PCs. Although WinZIP is still available for the PC, there is also a Mac version now, and it’s available for iOS and Android.

Switch your attachment settings from ‘Advanced attachment features’ to ‘Basic attachment features’ (click Settings and select the General tab to change this setting). Save your changes and try to upload your attachment again. Try another browser. Disable your proxy.

Send a saved picture or video in a message

1. From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
2. Tap the Messages icon.
3. Tap the Compose icon.
4. Enter message recipient or choose from Contacts.
5. Enter message text in the Enter message field.
6. Tap the Attach icon (paper clip).
7. Tap Image or Video.

Android: Send Picture in Email or Text Message

1. Open the “Messages” app.
2. Select the + icon, then choose a recipient or open an existing message thread.
3. Select the + icon to add an attachment.
4. Tap the Camera icon to take a picture, or tap the Gallery icon to browse for a photo to attach.

Touch the Action Overflow or Menu icon, and choose the Insert or Attach command. You may also see a Paperclip icon on the message composition screen. Here, a Camera icon is used to attach images.

Long-press the file and select “Share” or “Send” and choose the method of sending. Mail opens your email app, individual social networks and storage apps appear to let you upload to Dropbox or similar websites so you can send it to another phone via Bluetooth.

Option 2: Move files with a USB cable

1. Unlock your phone.
2. With a USB cable, connect your phone to your computer.
3. On your phone, tap the “Charging this device via USB” notification.
4. Under “Use USB for,” select File Transfer.
5. A file transfer window will open on your computer.

How to Send a Document in PDF Format

1. Log in to your Gmail account.
2. Click “Compose Mail.”
3. Enter the email address of your recipient in the “To” field. Enter a subject and message that you want to include along with the PDF document.
4. Click “Attach a File” underneath the “Subject” field.
5. Click “Send” to send the message and attached document.

You can attach a pdf to an iMessage. Open the pdf in whatever app it resides. Then tap the share icon and select Messages from the share option. Then select the person that you want to send the text to.

With Attacher enabled, you can send any file on your iPhone through iMessage. It’s handy when you need to quickly and easily send a file iMessage doesn’t support like a PDF, Pages document, or even app specific files.

Technically, you can send a PDF in a text message. Rather than sending as an SMS message, it becomes a multimedia message much like a photo or video. This requires loading the entire PDF into the message, however, which is not practical and some phones will block this process if the file is too large.

How do I attach pictures and files to a text message?

1. Open a new message and click on the attachment button.
2. Choose your desired file format in the new window.

Sending files from a Mac is just a matter of drag and drop, then opening the file in iOS:

The first thing you have to check is your mobile network connection. The MMS function requires an active cellular data connection. Without the data connection, you can’t attach the picture to text message Android. To check if the cellular data is enabled or not, you need to go to the settings option.

Go to Settings > Messages, and check that the type of message you’re trying to send is turned on (iMessage, SMS, MMS or Group Messaging). For your case, this will be MMS; Restart your iPhone; Go to Settings > General > About.

How to share photos and videos from the Messages app

1. Open the Messages app.
2. Tap a conversation, or tap the Compose button .

4. Tap each photo and video that you want to share.

One workaround to send pictures as attachments not as embedded images would be to use the Microsoft Outlook App for iOS. The app is free to download, does not require any Microsoft subscriptions for its use and can support mailboxes hosted in Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and iCloud.

Open the stock Messages app and tap on the “three dots” icon located right next to the compose message option, as shown in the screenshot below. Now, tap on “Edit Name and Photo” to go the dedicated section where you can set up your iMessage profile.

On the “Settings” screen, tap “Phone”. Tap “Respond with Text” on the “Phone” settings screen. On the “Respond with Text” screen, tap on the response you want to replace. Type your custom response.
