It costs Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) to register a cooperative in Nigeria.

1. Step 1: Ten Individuals together who are desirous of forming a Society.
2. Step 2: Provisional Committee to select Chief Promoter.
3. Step 3: A Name for the Society has to be selected.

Co-operative registration fees are as follows: R175. 00 registration fee, that is: R50.

Where do we register cooperative, and how much should be paid for the registration of cooperative? The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) is the sole government agency mandated to register all types of cooperatives. Its main office is located at 827 Aurora Blvd., Immaculate Conception, Quezon City.

The prospective cooperative acquires its juridical personality upon issuance of a Certificate of Registration . A Certificate of Authority shall be issued by CDA to cooperatives applying for the establishment of a branch office upon compliance with the requirements.

Definition: A co-operative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically controlled enterprise.

Accordingly, the cooperative principle is divided into Grice’s four maxims of conversation, called the Gricean maxims—quantity, quality, relation, and manner. These four maxims describe specific rational principles observed by people who follow the cooperative principle in pursuit of effective communication.

In conversation analysis, the cooperative principle is the assumption that participants in a conversation normally attempt to be informative, truthful, relevant, and clear. The concept was introduced by philosopher H. Grice suggested instead that meaningful dialogue is characterized by cooperation.

The cooperative principle is a principle of conversation that was proposed by Grice 1975, stating that participants expect that each will make a “conversational contribution such as is required, at the stage at which it occurs, by the accepted purpose or direction of the talk exchange.”

There are four types of implicature; conventional implicature, conversational implicature, generalized conversational implicature and particularized conversational implicature. Each types has characteristics such as cancellable, calculable, detachable, conventionally, and determinate (Grice, 1975).

In the branch of linguistics known as pragmatics, a presupposition (or PSP) is an implicit assumption about the world or background belief relating to an utterance whose truth is taken for granted in discourse.
