To scale an object to a smaller size, you simply divide each dimension by the required scale factor. For example, if you would like to apply a scale factor of 1:6 and the length of the item is 60 cm, you simply divide 60 / 6 = 10 cm to get the new dimension.

When scaling down, divide the original measurements by the second number in your ratio….Convert the actual measurements with the ratio.

1. Some ratios may be irregular, like 5:7.
2. For example, if scaling down with a 1:2 ratio, a length of 4 inches (10 cm) would become 2 inches (5.1 cm) because 4 ÷ 2 = 2.

A 1:100 scale is the representation of an object and/or subject that is 100 times smaller that it’s real world size of 1. So when reading this scale, 1 unit is the equivalent and equal to 100 units.

Scaling a Part

1. In a part document, click Scale (Features toolbar) or Insert > Features > Scale .
2. Set options in the PropertyManager.
3. Click. The geometry of the model increases or decreases in size according to the scaling factors and other options you set. The Scale feature scales only the geometry of the model.

To scale an entire SOLIDWORKS assembly, it is possible to scale each part independently, however this could be extremely tedious for an assembly with a large number of components. Alternatively, you can save the assembly as a multi-body part and scale this part in a single step.

The quickest way to scale down or scale up your SolidWorks part is by using Scale tool function. You can locate this tool at Insert>Features>Scale… Scale down your part 1/2 of it original size and OK.

To fix or float an assembly component:

1. Right-click the component in the graphics area or the component’s name in the FeatureManager design tree.
2. Select Fix or Float.
3. In assemblies with multiple configurations, select This Configuration, All Configurations, or Specified Configurations.

Create a table with Table Design

1. Select Create > Table Design.
2. In the new table, for the first field, enter a field name and a data type.
3. To set the primary key for the table, select the Field Name cell for the appropriate field and then select Primary Key.
4. Select File > Save, and name the table.

To scale a sketch:

1. In an active sketch, click Modify Sketch. (Sketch toolbar) or Tools > Sketch Tools > Modify.
2. In the dialog box, under Scale About, select one of the following: Option. Description. Sketch origin.
3. Type a value for Factor, and press Enter. You cannot scale a sketch that has external references.
4. Click Close.

You can scale the sketch geometry within an active sketch. The scale factor dimension is a temporary dimension. You can select this dimension and specify the scale factor or specify a value in the Scale collector of the Rotate Resize tab.

To specify the sheet scale, select Enable scale and choose a scale or User Defined. For User Defined, type a scale in the format 1:1 or 1/1. Scale output 1:1 in Task Scheduler differs from Scale output 1:1 in SOLIDWORKS. SOLIDWORKS lists only scales found in the current sheets.

How to scale model in PTC creo parametric

1. Open PRT file of model you want to scale.
2. Select “OPERATIONS” as shown in picture.
3. Select “scale Model” from drop down menu of OPERATIONS.
4. Enter scale value in box and accept it by clicking on “right” button.
