How do you reverse a door knob?

Drill 2″ hole in panel use drill and door handle bit. using snips , cut pieces of door panel out and remove. Using Screwdriver, pull latch open.

Removing your old door handle is a very simple task. With your door in an open position use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws (most handles have two screws but sometimes their may be three). Once the screws are removed you can now pull the outside handle and inside handle apart with little effort.

1. Access the screws holding the two sides of the doorknob together.
2. Hold the opposite side of the doorknob stable with your opposite hand.
3. Pull the doorknob off the door.
4. Insert the spindle in the opposite side of the door.

Rather than replace the locking knob with a closet knob, simply reverse the doorknob, placing the lock on the outside, so little fingers can’t lock themselves in where they do not belong.

If you buy the wrong lockset, you won’t be able to install it correctly on your door. Schlage gets around this problem by making its door handles reversible. You can reverse a Schlage door handle to fit your door, regardless of which side it’s handed on.
