Light indicators: An easy way to tell if your garage door sensors are out of alignment is by checking if the exterior LED light blinks when you attempt to close the door. Green lights mean the sensors are working, while red lights indicate the sensors are not aligned.

1. Sit in your Jeep with the engine off. Press the first and third buttons on your Homelink system at the same time and hold them down for 20 seconds.

You can’t program a garage door opener without a remote controller. But you can use your remote transmitter to reset the garage door opener buttons inside your car. Unplug the garage door opener and check the wiring connections on the panel. If the wiring connections are okay, wait a few minutes before plugging the garage door opener back in–disconnecting the power resets the logic board after an electrical disturbance. Then test whether the opener works.

The RPM sensor in a garage door opener detects motor speed. If the RPM sensor breaks, the garage door only moves 6 to 8 inches at a time and the LED light flashes 5 times. Replace the RPM sensor in your garage door opener with the manufacturer-approved garage door opener part.
