Because of their concern for social standing and social relationships, the non-physical nature of relational aggression as a social strategy has been found to be more prominent among females and is becoming more prevalent in school-age girls (Keith and Martin, 2005).

1. Time-out. When used appropriately, time-out teaches children how to calm down.
2. Restitution. If your child hurts someone, restitution should be part of the consequence.
3. Loss of privileges.

Relational aggression is an insidious type of bullying that often goes unnoticed by parents and educators. 1 Sometimes relational aggression is referred to as emotional bullying or the mean girl phenomenon and involves social manipulation such as: Breaking confidences or sharing secrets.

Currently, the average national volunteer retention rate is 65 percent, and the average donor retention rate is 46 percent.
