Adjustment

Adjust the parking brake pedal stroke by turning the adjusting nut (A). Operate the parking brake pedal through a full stroke over 3 times for setting the parking cables. Adjust the adjusting nut (A) for parking brake pedal stroke 4~5notches when operating effort is 196N(20kgf. 44lb).

Pull or step on the parking brake lever to engage the brake shoes. The lever should stop firmly about halfway through its travel. If the lever goes all the way to the floor, or pulls up really high in the case of a hand-actuated lever, you should turn the cable adjuster nut more.

1. Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel.
3. Remove the plug (A) from the disc.
4. Rotate the toothed wheel of adjuster by a screw driver until the disc is not moving, and then return it by 7~8 notches in the opposite direction.

Some vehicles have the parking brake operated by a small foot pedal, located by the other pedals. Depressing the foot pedal would engage the brake and pressing it again will release it. A pull handle variation also exists; by pulling or releasing the handle, this engages and releases the parking brake, respectively.

To release the parking brake, depress the parking brake pedal a second time while applying the foot brake. The pedal will automatically extend to the fully released position. To release the parking brake, first apply the foot brake and pull up the parking brake lever slightly.

To release EPB (electric parking brake) automatically:

1. Shift lever in P (Park) With the engine running depress the brake pedal and shift out of P (Park) to R (Rear), N (Neutral) or D (Drive).
2. Shift lever in N (Neutral) With the engine running depress the brake pedal and shift out of N (Neutral) to R (Rear) or D (Drive).

Take off the plastic around the handbrake -> Loose both screw -> just pull up, and twist it around and up from the parking brake -> you will see a long gold colored screw part of have a hex head -> adjust this accordingly.
