Here are some great ways to praise the Lord and what He says about them!

“Hosanna” was the shout of praise or adoration made in recognition of the Messiahship of Jesus on his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD!” which forms part of the Sanctus prayer.

Types of Praise

• Tehillah. Tehillah (תְּהִלָּה) means “to praise vocally with songs or shouts” and is closely related to the Hebrew name for the Book of Psalms – Tehilim (תְּהִלִּים).
• Halal.
• Barak.
• Towdah.
• Zamar.

There are four main types of worship that Christians can engage in:

• Liturgical worship.
• Non-liturgical worship.
• Informal worship.
• Private worship.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him! Psalm 9:9-10 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 34:10b Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

1. Praise Him by lifting your hands. Life up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord. –
2. Praise Him with singing.
3. Praise Him with your words.
4. Praise Him with dancing and instruments.
5. Praise Him in fellowship with other believers.

To bless God is to praise him and to thank him for all the blessings he gives us. When you think about America, you can’t help but recall the good things he has bestowed on us. Our nation was placed into history through his goodness to serve a role of protector and defender of liberty and freedom in our homeland.

We worship Jesus because of his humanity. And we worship Jesus because of his humility. mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Echoing the words of Paul, I urge you to give your all to Him who gave his all for you! Psalm 147:11 says, “But the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love” (ESV). God delights in us because we praise Him. We are doing what we should be doing — genuinely giving Him the glory.

To “delight,” says Webster’s Dictionary, is to “take pleasure” or “to give keen enjoyment” or to “give joy or satisfaction to.” Therefore, to delight in God’s Law/Word is to “take pleasure in the Word of God.” In simple words, it means we enjoy the Word.

God delights in exercising His character of lovingkindness, justice, righteousness, mercy and the like. These are attributes of God. God can do anything, but He only does what is consistent with His character.

1 Samuel 15:22-23 “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king.”

That is how close God wants us to be to Him, like John who laid his head on Jesus’ breast. (John 13:25). He will rejoice over you with singing: We don’t often think of God singing, but He does – and He sings over His people. This is how much joy and delight we give to the Lord – that He breaks into song!

“I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live” (Psalm 104:33). The beauty of knowing Christ is that the song of deliverance can last our entire lives. We can never outgrow the wonder of God or His miraculous hand over our lives.

This was just one of the so many good things Jesus did to so many people. Jesus was always doing good. Just like what the Sunday School song says, “Jesus went about doing good, the Bible tells me so… He heals the sick and cures the blind, to little children he was kind.

His love takes delight in us, and that settles us, offering a sense of peace. The underlying message for me was that God loves us just as we are. I love the thought that He takes undeserved delight in us.
