To bring up the Equation Editor, On the Insert tab, in the Symbols group, click the arrow next to Equation, and then click Insert New Equation. To repair the issue, open MathType’s Customize Keyboard dialog. On Windows, you do this by opening MathType’s Preferences menu and clicking Customize Keyboard. On Mac, this is in the Preferences flyout of the MathType menu. When the Customize Keyboard dialog opens, click Reset all.
