How do I turn RE off completely?

Option 2: Move files with a USB cable

1. Unlock your phone.
2. With a USB cable, connect your phone to your computer.
3. On your phone, tap the “Charging this device via USB” notification.
4. Under “Use USB for,” select File Transfer.
5. A file transfer window will open on your computer.

On your Android phone

1. Open the RE app.
2. Tap Get Started.
3. Tap Next. Your phone scans for nearby devices.
4. Select the name of your RE from the list of detected devices.
5. Set a password, and then tap OK. Note: Your phone turns on Wi‍-Fi if you haven’t switched it on.
6. Start using the app with your RE camera.

1. On the RE app, go to Settings.
2. Tap Advanced settings > Power off RE.
3. Tap OK to confirm. The app will close and the RE will power off.

Using the Reset button

1. Hold your RE with the lens facing up.
2. Open the microSD slot cover located at the bottom of your RE.
3. Press and hold the Shutter button, and at the same time, push the tip of a small bent paperclip onto the Reset button.
4. Release the Reset button.

Press and hold the reset button atop the camera for 30 seconds. After releasing it, the status light located at the bottom will flash a few times indicating the camera is restarting. The camera is now reset to factory defaults.

Performing a hard reset

1. To perform a hard reset, hold down the orange button for 20 seconds.
2. After releasing it, the light on the front will flash a few times indicating that your Ring Doorbell is restarting.
3. It may take a minute to fully complete this process.

You can also turn off the power by pulling out the battery and then put it back in. If your Ring Doorbell is fully charged, and the light still doesn’t start spinning when you push the black button, try performing a hard reset. To perform a hard reset, hold down the black button for 15 seconds.
