Adobe Creative Suite 5 allows you to import and export files into Dreamweaver. Tools exist that let you drop native images into Dreamweaver, as well as ino InDesign, Illustrator, and Flash.

Import site settings

Inserting an Image from a File

1. Set the insertion point where the image is to appear.
2. From the Insert menu, select Image. OR.
3. From the Look in pull-down list, locate and select the image to insert.
4. Click OK.
5. In the Alternate text text box, type text that describes the image.
6. Click OK.

1. Select the artboard you would like to save out by selecting the artwork on that artboard.
2. Go to File>Export>Save for Web (Legacy)
3. A dialogue box will appear. Select JPEG and lower your quality down to 60%.
4. Check to make sure your photo size is around 100K or less before you save it.
5. Click save.

Start Dreamweaver. Click Site on the Menu bar. Select Manage sites from the drop down list. Click the Import button.

How do I publish my site using Dreamweaver?

1. Open Dreamweaver on your local machine.
2. From the Site menu select Manage Sites.
3. Click New.
4. Enter a name for your website.
5. Choose if you will be using a server technology like ColdFusion or ASP.NET.
6. Select Edit local copies on my machine.

So, to insert an image file from your computer into an open HTML web page in Dreamweaver, follow these steps: Click in the Document window at the point where the image is to be inserted. In this step, you locate where in your HTML code the image will be inserted.

You find those tools in the Properties Inspector. You don’t create images in Dreamweaver. For that, Adobe provides Illustrator (for artwork, graphical text, page background images, navigation icons, and so on) and Photoshop (for preparing photos for the web), as well as other tools.

Dreamweaver’s minimalist image editing tools allow you to perform rudimentary image editing, such as resizing and cropping. You find those tools in the Properties Inspector.

Resize an image. You can visually resize elements such as images, plug‑ins, Shockwave or SWF files, applets, and ActiveX controls in Dreamweaver. Visually resizing an image helps you see how the image affects the layout at different dimensions but it does not scale the image file to the proportions that you specify.
