Power cycle the device:

Restarting Your EBT Terminal – VX510/VX570

1. Unplug the power supply from the terminal or where it plugs into the wall.
2. Wait a few seconds.
3. Plug the power back in.

VeriFone VX520 – How To Repair IP/ Ethernet Connection

1. Press the * key.
2. Press “F2” for CommServer.
3. Press “Reprint” under the Wrench and the Hammer.
4. Press “F4” for REPAIR.
5. Prompted “Repairing Connection Operation May Take Up To 1 Minute Please Wait…”
6. If Prompted, “Connection Repair Failed, …”

I. “Comm Error” – Stands for communication error and is by far the most common issue that you will face. The bank authorizes these funds and sends a signal back to the terminal to say “Approved” or “Declined.” If a communication error happens on the way to the bank or on the way back, it will say “Comm Error.”

One of the quickest ways to troubleshoot a Verifone Vx 520, is to: Unplug the terminal from the power source, let it sit for about 30 seconds, Plug it back in, and allow the terminal to reboot. Go back to the soft pay screen, and then they select the sales screen.

1. Remove battery from the back and then replace.
2. Press and hold the green Enter key to restart the terminal.

Connect the Terminal

1. Remove the cover from the bottom of the terminal.
2. Connect an ethernet cable to the ‘ETH’ port OR the included phone line cable to the phone port.
3. Plug the other end of the ethernet cable into an open numbered port on the router.
4. Connect the power adapter to the round port.

Communication errors can result from poor line conditions such as static or noise, call waiting on the recipient line, lack of available memory on the remote machine, power interruption on either end of the transmission, a busy signal on the recipient line, or incompatibility between the two machines.

This error message and error codes may indicate an issue with the DNS used, or that the connection timed out. These errors may be the result of a slow Internet connection, wireless interference, or a weak wireless signal from the router.

To connect the Verifone V400m to your WiFi network

1. After the bootup, Configure Network button appears on the screen. Tap on the Configure Network button.
2. Tap on Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi settings screen opens.
3. Tap Add Network.
4. The device will scan for nearby Wi-Fi networks. Select the network you want to connect to.

If you own an OMNI 3750, Vx510, Vx570, or Vx810 terminal you may have noticed it rebooted to a screen you are unfamiliar with. Be sure to select “SOFTPAY-PAYM” when you reboot so you can return to your regular Sale, Settlement and Void screen.

Confirm the VeriFone VX 520 terminal’s Ethernet cable is connected to the ETH port at the bottom of the terminal. If your terminal is connected to a modem and/or router, does the modem and/or router have a dynamic or static IP address?
