World Machine offers industry-leading erosion tools to help create natural appearing terrains. New to World Machine 2 is a layout view that allows you to use vector-based drawing tools to manipulate your terrain.

World Machine is essentially visualization for the terrain creation process. A World Machine world file is not the terrain, but the process that creates the terrain. Every step- by-step procedure you would act on in some other software has a visual equivalent in Page 5 World Machine.

Gaea 1.0 is now available to everyone and includes the free Community Edition. After years in incubation and almost an entire year in Early Access, Gaea is finally available to everyone!

Newtonian World Machine. The idea the the universe was one huge, regulated, and uniform machine that operated according to the natural laws in absolute time, space, and motion. ( pg. 495)

1. Download the latest version.
2. Run the downloaded .exe file.
3. By default, Gaea installs to C:/Program Files/QuadSpinner/Gaea but can be directed to any other folder.
4. Once setup is complete, Gaea will launch.
5. Follow the on-screen questions to set up your default preferences.

Leo Valdez
The Trials of Apollo Six months after Gaea’s defeat, Leo Valdez finally returns to Camp Half-Blood. While discussing the threat of Triumvirate Holdings, Leo expresses confidence that they can win, pointing out that they had defeated Gaea in about forty seconds.

The Macro Library is full of user-created macros for World Machine. You can find all kinds of useful effects and shortcuts compiled by other World Machine users. Maybe you have something of your own you’d like to share?

Adding a macro to your world is simple: from the menu bar, select Macros>Load Device from Library. You will be presented with a list of the macros installed on your machine. Clicking on a macro reveals details about it on the right, such as the author, what version of World Machine the macro was created for, and a description of the macro.

For example, there are various macros to add terrain texturing, create pre-specified terrain types, or determine how a river behaves. World Machine ships with a small selection of macros, but you can find more online in our Macro Library. The Macro Library is full of user-created macros for World Machine.

Free for non-commercial use Working on a personal or educational project? You’re welcome to use the Basic Edition for as long as you want. If you want to sell, use in a commercial product, or otherwise profit from a work containing World Machine output you will need to buy one of our full licenses. This is not a time limited trial.
