UCAS number / personal ID – your UCAS number is your personal ID given to you by UCAS. It’s not the same as your Clearing number or ID. Unconditional offer – An offer of a place on your chosen course that is subject to no conditions.

Personal ID or UCAS ID – the ten-digit number you get when you begin an application – displayed in 123-456-7890 format on every email we send you. You’ll be asked for this if you get in touch with our Customer Experience Centre.

We merged with the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology (UWIST) in 1988. In 1999 the public name of the University changed to Cardiff University. In 2004 we merged with the University of Wales College of Medicine.

Save yourself time and effort by using your UCAS status codes when opening a bank account. Once we receive your application, we create your personal status codes and email them to you. These codes allow a number of banks to confirm your eligibility for their student accounts.

1. go into ucas track (this is only available if you’ve sent off your ucas)
2. there’s a big yellow box saying “opening a student bank account?”
3. in the bottom right of that box there is your 16 digit code.

I can’t find my 16 digit UCAS code anywhere and I need it to open a student account.

Monzo card must be sent to a UK address so ensure you know your UK address before you apply. This is not a student account so is available to anyone and does not require a student to have an enrolment letter. There is a limit of £1000 cash deposit per 6 months, but no limit on electronic transfers in.

Have a look at our key dates page to ensure you don’t miss anything. Applications from overseas students (non EU) will be accepted through UCAS up until 30 June. However, it is recommended that you apply by the 29 January (for 2021 entry) as courses may close after this date if they become full.

The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) manages higher education applications in the UK. Each institution has a code for use in the application process.

Medicine (UCAS Codes: A100 and A104) and Dentistry (UCAS Codes: A200 and A204) have a separate deadline of 15 October. If you are applying after 30 June, please contact the International Office directly to discuss your application.
