Tap the “Wi-Fi” option under Wireless & networks, tap the menu button, and then tap “Advanced” to open the Advanced Wi-Fi screen. You’ll find the IP address and MAC address displayed at the bottom of this page.

Please follow these setup instructions to setup remote Internet access for the dual codec JPEG DVR:

1. Assign your DVR an IP Address.
2. Connect to your DVR on your LAN – Local Area Network.
3. Setting up Port Forwarding on your Router.
4. Setting up a Static DHCP IP address for your DVR.
5. Remote Internet Setup.

DVRs/NVRs that have a built-in network capability can be accessed over the internet remotely or outside your home network on a computer, desktop video surveillance software, phone apps or web browsers.

How to identify unknown devices connected to your network

1. Tap the Settings app.
2. Tap About Phone or About Device.
3. Tap Status or Hardware Information.
4. Scroll down to see your Wi-Fi MAC address.

Look for a link or button named something like “attached devices,” “connected devices,” or “DHCP clients.” You may find this on the Wi-Fi configuration page, or you may find it on some sort of status page. On some routers, the list of connected devices may be printed on a main status page to save you some clicks.

If you see strange devices on your network manager, it is likely that your Wi-Fi is protected using a WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) protocol. If the device has an IP address then it is connected to your Wi-Fi successfully. Windows Connect Now on Windows 10 and 8 goes and does some further work.

To set up access control:

1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your router’s network.
2. Enter the router user name and password.
3. Select ADVANCED > Security > Access Control.
4. Select the Turn on Access Control check box.

The easiest, most secure method is merely changing your Wi-Fi network’s password on your router. This will forcibly disconnect all devices from your Wi-Fi network—even your own. You’ll have to reconnect to the Wi-Fi network by entering the new password on all your devices.

Use a Wi-Fi detective app You can search the app store for options, but one reliable app is called WiFi Guard, available for both iOS and Android. This app gives you a list of all connected devices, which you can scan to see if there are any devices you don’t recognize.

The device is blocked by an ACL – ACL (Access Control List) are used to enforce network security. They work by limiting portions of your network devices or by limiting access to the internet. If this scenario is applicable, disabling the Access Control feature or resetting the router settings.

If you believe that you’ve been blocked from a wireless network, you can confirm this by checking a few things in your network status page.

1. Double-check to ensure that your network password was typed properly, if your network has one.
2. Open up your Network Settings and check your network status.

“Use the access control feature to block devices from connecting to your router’s Internet connection. Note: Blocking devices with access control only blocks them from accessing the Internet. Devices can still access your router’s local network and communicate with your connected devices.”

You can block a particular device from using your Wifi network through MAC address filtering. It’s easy to do if you know the MAC address of the device you want to block. The exact settings and information available may vary by the router, but most make the IP addresses and associated MAC addresses available to you.
