How to convert HTML to RTF

A plain text file is a document that contains no formatting, images, colors or other types of markup. It also includes single line breaks and spacing. A rich text file is the default format of popular word-processors like Microsoft Word, Apple Pages and Notes, a Google Doc, and even HTML emails.

If you’re only looking for adjustable text options, such as italics or bolding, use the Rich Text format. When you just want text and no other options, you can use the Plain Text format.

There are several reasons why you may want to save files in Rich Text Format (RTF): RTF is readable across many programs and platforms. Although many applications can import Microsoft Word® DOC files, older programs may not be able to import or convert newer versions of Word. This is not the case with RTF.

HTML, or Hypertext Markup Language, is the primary formatting for web pages, that are used on the internet. Rich Text lacks certain features that are related to internet use, such as linking to files, other web pages, and other protocols like emails.

Convert HTML file to a text file (preserving HTML code and text)….Select the file and click the Open button.

Plain text format allows only the use of, well…plain text. It doesn’t allow any formatting options such as bolding, italics or any font size adjustments, and definitely no images.

Click Outlook Properties. In the Internet Format list, click Send Plain Text only or Send using Outlook Rich Text format. By default, Let Outlook decide the best sending format is selected, which usually is HTML format. Note: You can change the format for only the messages sent to a contact with an SMTP email address.
