Alice goes to Janine’s, and later Michael finds her at home with blood on her hands. He goes to Janine’s house but finds her alive. Michael and Janine both try to grab the knife, but Janine gets it first and stabs Michael again, killing him. However, Alice believes she killed him.

Janine was last seen heading to Paris in 2014 to pick up her daughter Scarlett but her whereabouts have been unknown since then. And on her return to Albert Square, Charlie, who won I’m A Celebrity in 2012, said: “I am beyond excited to be slipping back into Janine’s shoes and returning to the square.

Janine’s former stepbrother David Wicks (Michael French) suspects that Janine is guilty of the murder, so he manipulates her into allowing him to stay at her house, and then into admitting that she killed Michael. David promises to keep her secret, but has secretly recorded the confession on his phone.

Scarlett’s name Michael goes behind Janine’s back and names their daughter Scarlett Patricia Moon. Scarlett was born 3 months premature and Janine wanted to call her Patricia or Margaret, presumably after Peggy Mitchell and Pat Evans. Michael and Janine soon settled on the name Scarlett.

She first appeared 10 May 1988 and originally departed on 27 December 1990, before returning as one of the show’s central antagonists from 13 October 1992 until her exit episode on 10 April 1998; the character died off-screen of childbirth on 5 November 1998.
