Mermaids would most likely have babies not by laying eggs, but by life-bearing them in the ocean similar to dolphins. This means mermaids would carry their babies in their wombs for 9-12 months and then give birth to them from the bottom side of their tails.

Ariel spends very little time not under the watch of a man, whether that be her father or the Prince. This sends the message that the only way girls will be able to gain independence from their family is by entering into a marriage with a man.

A woman named Mother Gothel (voiced by Donna Murphy) kidnaps Rapunzel for her magical hair which would help maintain her youth.

So Gothel only “loves” Rapunzel due to Rapunzel’s effect on Gothel’s longevity. That’s it. Other than that, Gothel employed manipulation to keep Rapunzel away from the world. No she doesn’t.

When the mother looks at her daughter, she (the mother) and Rapunzel have a slightly similar hair colour and both of them have green eyes. The King and Queen instantly recognise their daughter.

Yes, she did. Obviously, her care for Repunzel was absolutely secondary to her selfishness of wanting eternal life, because she still had no second thoughts about keeping her locked up for her entire life and never letting her leave for any reason.

Rapunzel was a lovely young child. And obedient. So Mother Gothel could just enjoy her, because children ARE enjoyable, and doing nice things for them on their birthday is fun for the PARENT.

Kidnapped by Mother Gothel when she was still an infant, Rapunzel had been raised and locked away in a tall tower up until her 18th birthday, when she is ‘rescued’ by Flynn Rider. However, she does view Mother Gothel as her maternal mother despite being kidnapped.

She is then 18 years old at the end of the movie. In Tangled, at the beginning of the movie, Rapunzel mentions to Mother Gothel that her birthday will be in a few days and she will be 18.

Mother Gothel kidnapped Rapunzel and locked her away in a tower. She made Rapunzel believe she was her mother since she kidnapped her at such a young age and used her for her own sinister purposes. To me that makes her the evilest villain even though there are some who may disagree.

After a dying Eugene Fitzherbert (previously known as Flynn Rider) cuts Rapunzel’s hair clean off with a close stray shard of broken glass, this causes Rapunzel to lose all of the magical healing powers that were bestowed in the strands. The hair was the one thing keeping Mother Gothel alive and physically young.

Rapunzel Tremaine isn’t only based on the fairytale character, as well as the iteration from Tangled, but she also bears similarities to the character of Cinderella. For example, her married name is “Tremaine,” which is the same as the evil stepmother, Lady Tremaine, from Disney’s Cinderella.
