Put about five tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl and mix in enough warm water to form a paste. After you’ve given your headlights a basic cleaning, apply the paste to the headlights with a corner of your sponge. Go on, be generous.

Mix car shampoo (or liquid dish soap) with water onto your CleanTools premium wash mitt until it foams for an initial wipe down of the headlight surface. Then, some mix baking soda and vinegar together in a small bucket; you should see them react with one another instantly.

1. Step 1: Add baking soda to your toothpaste if it’s not gritty enough for whitening.
2. Step 2: Use a toothbrush to really work the paste into the light.
3. Step 3: Spray the headlight with warm water.
4. Step 4: Cover the headlight with wax to keep the plastic from quickly getting dingy again.

If the headlights are only slightly foggy, you can try and restore them using an abrasive, like toothpaste, and lots of scrubbing. First, clean the headlights with Windex or soap and water. Then, using a soft cloth, rub a fingertip amount of toothpaste onto the wet headlight. (Toothpaste with baking soda works best.)

While using a Magic Eraser on a vehicle’s paint has become somewhat of a cautionary tale, it’s completely safe to clean cloudy headlights. Buff each one with a wet Magic Eraser, then wipe with a paper towel as they dry.

The Magic Eraser can actually be used to clean cloudy headlights. You just get the eraser wet and start scrubbing the outside of the headlight where all of the grime builds up.

Cloudy, discolored headlamp lenses. This is caused by the ultra-violet light from the sun. It attacks the surface of the plastic and causes it to get little pock marks and checks in it and so on, and you see it as this cloudy appearance. If you look at this lens, the left side is very discolored.

Apply a little toothpaste to your headlights with a soft dry cloth and rub it in circular motions. Rinse with water and wipe with a wet cloth. Aluminum Polishing Compound: Wash your headlight with soap and water, then dry them.

How to Use Bleach for Yellowed Plastic

1. For electronic parts, removed the yellowed plastic.
2. Fill a sink with an 8:1 water to bleach mix.
3. Put on some gloves.
4. Submerge the plastic in the bleach.
5. Soak until white again.
6. Remove from the solution.
7. Wash with mild soap and rinse.

Proper Cleaners to Polycarbonate In order to do this, you can either blow the debris off the polycarbonate or use water and a soft cloth to float the debris off. After you have removed the debris from your polycarbonate you should clean it with a recommended cleaner such as Novus #1.
