Your iTunes Library isn’t gone, but it does live in a different place now. When Apple released macOS Catalina in the fall of 2019, it also quietly closed the book on iTunes.

With macOS Catalina, your iTunes media library is now available in the Apple Music app, Apple TV app, Apple Books app, and Apple Podcasts app. And Finder is where you can manage and sync content on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

iTunes is mainly associated with organizing and adding digital media like songs, movies, and TV shows, which can be purchased by the users. So, the key difference is that iTunes is associated with digital media while App Store is mainly associated with software and mobile applications.

1. In the iTunes app on your PC, choose Edit > Preferences, then click Downloads.
2. Below Automatic Downloads, select the types of content (Music, Movies, and TV Shows) you want to download automatically.

2. Tap Sign in to your [device].
3. Enter your Apple ID and password.
4. If prompted, enter the six-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number and complete sign in.

iTunes has a whole page dedicated to free downloads. To access Free On iTunes, first open iTunes and click the iTunes Store item on the left-hand sidebar.

Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Apple ID. Click Password & Security. If you’re asked to enter your Apple ID password, click “Forgotten Apple ID or password” and follow the onscreen instructions. You can skip the final steps below.

Your account also keeps track of your purchases and downloads, and will recommend items you might enjoy. To access the iTunes store, click on “iTunes Store” in the left-hand column of iTunes’ main screen.

Or, if you prefer, you can Control or right-click on an icon on the left and then choose Open in New Window. Multiple windows can be extremely useful while using iTunes.

The version of iTunes in the Microsoft Store isn’t some sort of “stripped down” universal app. This is the same iTunes desktop application you know and (probably don’t) love. It features the iTunes Store, Apple Music, a local media library, and the ability to sync music, videos, and photos to and from your iPhone, iPad, or iPhone.
