‘By’ means any time but before the specified time. So, if the deadline is April 12 11:59 pm (i.e. 2349 hr), ‘by’ would be any time before it.

We use by, not until, to talk about something that will happen before a particular time or deadline: The movie will be finished by 9 pm. Not: The movie will be finished until/till 9 pm. We don’t use until or till to talk about quantity or numbers.

“Until” means something is going to happen up to some point in time, as in, “I’m going to bother you until you pay me my money.” “Not until” connotes something that will happen after some point in time, as in, “I will not stop bothering you until you pay me my money.”

Until means up to the time.

She wants you to go to work on Monday. When talking about time, the word “till” (or “until”) usually doesn’t include the endpoint. For example, “I don’t have class until 5:00” implies that I have class at 5. Once it reaches 5, the statement “I don’t have class” no longer applies.

“Till date” is not correct. Till is a badly formed contraction of until, which would be correctly spelled “ ’til “ (note the apostrophe) but is too informal for talking about your professional life.

Using before is non inclusive, it means that I expect it to be done when I arrive on Tuesday morning. If you want to be precise and want it done literally before a certain time, then “before” is the the word to use. If you want it done on or before the specified day or time, the “by” is the right word.

We use: at for a PRECISE TIME. in for MONTHS, YEARS, CENTURIES and LONG PERIODS. on for DAYS and DATES.

You can use “by” with the end time of an activity. The show should be finished by 9pm. It means no later than. So when it’s used with a specific time, it can mean on or before that time.

Complete and Finish both share the meaning of getting something done. However, the degree in which that thing gets done is different when using each word. ‘To complete something’ means to fulfill it. In other words, to finish something means to end it.

Just remember it is the sound that governs whether you use “a” or “an,” not the actual first letter of the word.
