The only character you play as though is yourself and you can set up parties with all the characters though you can leave out Kirito. Otherwise, there is an Online PvP mode called “Hero’s Battle Mode” that allows you to play as all the other characters (Including Kirito).

Well, it was as everyone predicted, LLENN and Fuka ended up killed after killing Pito. But man that was a great fight. I was happy they didn’t settle it with swords, but the Lucky Girl power manifested again with that jammed bullet in the right time.

SAO Alternative: GGO is a mostly action story. GGO is better then SAO but thats more due to the fact that Reki can’t write a story and is mainly a self insert then anything else. I have read both series and while SAO was just painful, GGO was fun and made actual characters past the main character.

It’s a spin off that doesn’t involve you die in game you die in real life so there’s that. A lot of responses have been pretty lukewarm so far so I’ll firmly come down on one side – yes I do think it’s worth watching.

SAO II’s still relatively mediocre. I liked the first season better up to episode 8 or so (SAO I spoilers). But it’s definitely better than second season. the way they connect Kirito from the previous season is what really makes it good.
