You must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license to rent a boat on Lake Geneva. Some rental companies require the renter to be 25 years old, but the youngest is 21 years old. It’s recommended to also take a boater safety course before renting a boat on Lake Geneva, regardless of age.

LAKE GENEVA BOAT LAUNCH The fees are as follows: Trailered and motorized boats less than 20′ in length -$10.00 resident and $11.00 non-resident. For boats 20′ to 25’11” – $14.00 resident and $21.00 non-resident. For 26′ and over – $16.00 resident and $24.00 non-resident.

The Rules for resident, non-resident, business owner or Walworth County Permit Holders. Permit holders are issued a sticker registered to their vehicle that allows a 3 hour block of parking time. Vehicle stickers must be visible and properly affixed to the windshield to be valid.

Can I drink and boat? State law says you can’t be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while behind the wheel, whether you’re on a boat or in a car. Bonus: You also can’t drink and surfboard, or drink and water ski according to Wisconsin state law.

Wisconsin residents and visitors needing a boater safety education card to rent a boat or personal watercraft can now get their temporary safety certificate online. Wisconsin state law states you must be born before January 1, 1989 in order to operate a watercraft WITHOUT a Boater’s Safety license.
