Do physicists need to know chemistry?

HomeArticles, FAQDo physicists need to know chemistry?

Everyone learns about atoms and the periodic table but at the University of California Berkeley physics majors did not take chemistry. I have to say that I very much appreciated my chemistry background throughout my career but most physicists learn chemistry and other things on their own as part of lifelong learning.

Q. Is physics better than chemistry?

Understanding is more effective in physics than is memorization. If you pick experimental physics or chemistry you will crunch a lot of data and use statistics a lot. Apart from the statistics, physics requires more advanced levels of mathematics than chemistry.

Q. Which is the most difficult subject in science?

The Hardest Science Majors

  • Chemistry. Students majoring in chemistry study the elements that make up the world—investigating their properties and how they interact, combine, and change.
  • Neuroscience.
  • Astronomy and Astrophysics.

Q. Can physics exist without chemistry?

Without the universe existing (physics) and all the elements existing within it (which is also physics) and without all the forces acting upon the elements (still physics), there would be no chemistry to exist. Particles (physics) + forces (physics) = chemistry.

Q. Which is better MSC in physics or chemistry?

Both are equally good. But job wise chemistry has good scope in industries (pharma, chemical, leather, many more)and laboratories too.. u may jump for research, school/college lecturer also. Incase of physics it is restricted to research and few jobs in laboratories, schools and colleges.

Q. Is high school physics harder than chemistry?

Originally Answered: Is high school chemistry harder than physics? No, That’s all depends upon the interest of the student and the educator from he is studying. The level of physics and chemistry at high school is very low but very interesting and it’s very useful to make interest in student.

Q. What is easier physics or chemistry?

Physics is ALWAYS easier than Chemistry in all aspects, but it can depend on the teacher… I completely disagree with the consensus in this thread. Physics is far harder than chemistry, at least at my school. Then again, that could be because my physics class is calculus based, and thus more rigorous.

Q. Why is chemistry easier than physics?

Answers and Replies. Its alot easier to understand chemistry than its physics, chemistry is more to do with knowing and not so much understanding, whereas with physics you need to understand before you can know.
