Everyone learns about atoms and the periodic table but at the University of California Berkeley physics majors did not take chemistry. I have to say that I very much appreciated my chemistry background throughout my career but most physicists learn chemistry and other things on their own as part of lifelong learning.

Understanding is more effective in physics than is memorization. If you pick experimental physics or chemistry you will crunch a lot of data and use statistics a lot. Apart from the statistics, physics requires more advanced levels of mathematics than chemistry.

Without the universe existing (physics) and all the elements existing within it (which is also physics) and without all the forces acting upon the elements (still physics), there would be no chemistry to exist. Particles (physics) + forces (physics) = chemistry.

Both are equally good. But job wise chemistry has good scope in industries (pharma, chemical, leather, many more)and laboratories too.. u may jump for research, school/college lecturer also. Incase of physics it is restricted to research and few jobs in laboratories, schools and colleges.

Physics is ALWAYS easier than Chemistry in all aspects, but it can depend on the teacher… I completely disagree with the consensus in this thread. Physics is far harder than chemistry, at least at my school. Then again, that could be because my physics class is calculus based, and thus more rigorous.
