This sees teams split into two even groups (dependent on the number of teams remaining in the competition) and will each run competing restaurants, cooking in a large semi-trailer which opens up into two kitchens. Patrons dining will pay for what they believe the meal was worth.

While rumours have circulated that the winning team are no longer on speaking terms, Nic and Rocco now own a chain of patisseries, run cooking classes and have written two cookbooks. They are now even advertising themselves as consultants for future MKR contestants.

‘My Kitchen Rules’ eliminates another couple Peter and Gary have left My Kitchen Rules. Queensland lawyer Peter and doctor Gary, who was nicknamed “Dr Evil” by his fellow contestants, were eliminated from the Seven Network cooking show after a sudden death cook-off against sisters Carly and Emily.

They left their jobs, packed a suitcase each & headed off on this new adventure where neither of them knew where it was going to take them. It was daunting yet exciting. The show took 6 months to film, each day between 14 to 16 hours long.

“I was paid $500 per week for being on the show,” Green told the commission. The commission said it was clear “the allowance of $500 per week was an allowance for ingredients for the meals the applicant cooked as part of the program and for the decor for the dinner”.

The fourth series of MKR was shown in 2013. In May 2020, Evans’ contract with Channel Seven was terminated after poor ratings from the eleventh season of My Kitchen Rules, and the TGA fining him A$25,000 for promoting a device he claimed could cure COVID-19.

“You’re not allowed to use certain equipment you own or the products you’re used to.” And then to make things ever harder for the contestants – and better for viewers – the competitors have to submit countless recipes to be part of the show.
