Players require a Defence level of 20 in order to receive basilisks as a Slayer task, as this is required to wield the shield. Basilisks have below average accuracy for their level, but have high Defence. They are weak to crush attacks, so, if using Melee, a Leaf-bladed battleaxe is an excellent weapon to use.

If you’re looking for efficiency, don’t unlock either. If you go through Konar as your slayer master you can get assigned basilisks in the prison, which is the only place to get basilisk jaws to make the faceguard (they’re also worth 13M).

Slayer Unlocks Konar, Duradel and Nieve will be able to assign Basilisks as your task. Increase the risk against certain slayer monsters with the chance of a superior version spawning whilst on a slayer task. Number of Basilisks assigned is increased to 200-250.

Basilisk Knights have a combat level of 204, they are 300 hit points, and they mostly use magic and melee as attack style with a maximum of 20 for both. They also have a special attack, but you will be able to fend it off easily as long as you have your auto-retaliate.

As far as the fast tasks done for points, Duradel is also better. The tasks Duradel assigns more of are much faster than those that Nieve assigns.
