The cool breeze that swept the Hawaiian hillside pastures above died early in the descent. There were four of them—Vinny; his best friend, Joe- Boy; Mo, who was afraid of nothing; and Joe-Boy’s haole2 girlfriend, Starlene—all fifteen.
