After the war. After the destruction of the One Ring and of Sauron, Legolas stayed for the coronation of Aragorn and his marriage to Arwen. His strong friendship with Gimli prompted Legolas to invite him to accompany him to the Undying Lands; making him the first and only Dwarf to do so.

After the demise of Sauron, Éowyn and Faramir marry and settle in Ithilien, of which Faramir is made the ruling Prince by Aragorn.

Faramir is the younger son of Denethor, Steward of Gondor, and spent much of his life in the shadow of his brother Boromir. After the Wars of the Ring, Faramir becomes one of the Chief Captains of Gondor and Aragorn’s trusted counselor. He and Éowyn marry in 3020 and live peacefully.

She met and fell in love with Faramir, who had likewise been injured before the battle. After the War of the Ring had ended, she decided to give up dreams of glory in battle and devote her life to peace and a happy marriage.

Two similarly used by their families — for Eowyn, tending to her possessed uncle, and for Faramir, serving under a crazed father. And yet, they endure. And he [Faramir] took her in his arms and kissed her under the sunlit sky, and he cared not that they stood high upon the walls in the sight of many.

Aragorn crushed the leaves of an Athelas plant, a seemingly useless herb that grew in Gondor, and stirred them in a bowl of warm water. Aragorn then tended to Éowyn and Merry, who both returned to consciousness when Aragorn touched and kissed them. All through the night, Aragorn healed the wounded of the city.

Eomer was always next in line to be king, however if he and Theoden had both died in combat, the title would have fallen to Eowyn. Fortunately Eomer did make it and claimed the title as the King of Rohan.

A thought I wanted to share and discuss with you all is the following: In the Houses of Healing, Aragorn was able to heal Faramir after his injury from the Southron’s arrow, but more impressively, he is able to heal Eowyn and Merry from their injuries sustained by the Witch-king of Angmar, Sauron’s greatest captain.

Not is only Eowyn more beautiful, she is also the better character in both the movie and the book.

When Aragorn leads his company away from Edoras towards the Dwimorberg, the haunted mountain, and the Paths of the Dead, he leaves Éowyn behind him, his last words to her nothing more than, “Nay, lady”. Aragorn has rejected her, refusing to take her with him on the Paths of the Dead.

Fast forward to after Smaug dies: Legolas receives a message from Thranduil that he is to return but Tauriel is banished. Fast forward again to the Battle of Five Armies after Kíli is killed by Bolg. The last we see or hear of Tauriel is her mourning Kíli, confessing her love, and kissing his lips.

Eowyn ad Faramir’s wedding was in fact shot for Peter Jackson’s film but got deleted in the final cut. However, Tolkien has Éowyn settle down into the duties of a wife after she meets Faramir.

However, Tolkien decided to let her live, having Aragorn revive her with the life-giving athelas plant with its magical healing properties. In the film trilogy, Éowyn defeats the leader of the Nagûl in the final film, The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

The Lady of Rohan, Éowyn was the niece of Theoden, the king of Rohan, and one of the bravest characters in Tolkien’s epic fantasy, The Lord Of The Rings. Éowyn was portrayed in Peter Jackson’s trilogy by actress Miranda Ott.
