Short answer: No. It is unlikely that J.K Rowling will get a Nobel for Literature. Not because her work is unremarkable but because she isn’t Swedish-born, and the main theme of her Magnum Opus isn’t about the championing of Human Rights.

Rowling owes her success to an 8-year-old girl Like many first-time authors, Rowling struggled to get her first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone published. Rowling’s editor, Barry Cunningham, warned her that she needed to get a day job because it was impossible to make a living writing children’s books.

J.K. Rowling first had the idea for Harry Potter while delayed on a train travelling from Manchester to London King’s Cross in 1990. Over the next five years, she began to plan out the seven books of the series. She wrote mostly in longhand and amassed a mountain of notes, many of which were on scraps of paper.

After graduating from university, Rowling had several jobs, including working as a bilingual secretary and researcher at Amnesty International’s London offices. She then moved to Manchester, where she worked for the Chamber of Commerce. She still enjoyed writing, but it was more of a hobby than a career at that time.

The Cormoran Strike Detective Series Written under the pen name Robert Galbraith, the Cormoran Strike series follow the adventures of London-based private detective Cormoran Strike, a surly war veteran and illegitimate son of a famous rock star. Rowling is currently working on the fourth book in the series.
