At the start of the war, many Confederate soldiers just wore their own clothes into battle. Eventually they settled on a uniform that had a waist length grey coat and light blue trousers. Due to costs and a lack of materials during the war, many Confederate soldiers did not have adequate uniforms.

The tang on the Ka-bar is very nice and will probably stand up to any “normal” abuse you put it through. Although the Ka-Bar uses a rat tail tang instead of a full tang that I prefer on other fixed blades. The steel they use is quite strong being 1095 though.

The KA-BAR Survival Knife has proven itself in survival situations, combat situations, work and utility situations.
