Twisted research scientist Alice first encounters Luther when he is investigating the brutal murder of her parents in the first episode of series one, which he later deduces she was responsible for. She had shot both her parents in the head and hidden the gun in the body of her dead dog (which she had also murdered).

The verdict was appealed and Crimmins was released, charged again and convicted in 1971. That second verdict was overturned in 1973; then it was reinstated and Crimmins was imprisoned again in 1975. She was paroled in 1977. Now 77, Crimmins is out there somewhere; according to rumor, she may even be living in Queens.

It is a violent serial killer that murders victims based off the stories of Alice in Wonderland. From 1999 to 2005, this killer terrorized the Japanese people through their brutal murders and mutilations, all accompanied by a playing card with the word “Alice” written in blood on it.

She committed those murders because she wanted to display her intellectual prowess and prove that she could get away with it. She plotted the perfect murder, without planting any evidence of her killing her parents. The reason she was drawn to Luther was the fact that he managed to outsmart her.

The second death was Alice herself. After a showdown with Luther in an empty building site, she fell from some scaffolding and plummeted to the floor, seemingly being killed on impact.

She does not believe love exists, but becomes infatuated with Luther after seeing that despite his wife, Zoe, leaving him and seeing another man, Mark North, Luther remains faithful to her, goes out of his way to protect her, and actively tries to patch things up with her.

Between seasons, Luther and Alice tried to start a new life together, but when season 4 picks up, they had parted ways and Luther is informed of her death, which conveniently happened offscreen.

They settled into domestic bliss and viewers were given a glimpse into their steamy sex life. The pair were seen in a close embrace as they cuddled on the bed. Viewers couldn’t believe their eyes as they discovered the pair actually slept together.

Zoe Luther Through various events, including a one-time post-breakup sexual encounter with Luther, Zoe is sorely tempted to return to her marriage, but she realises things would only go back to the way they were and she ultimately leaves him. Zoe is killed by Ian Reed in the penultimate episode of Series 1.

She is also vengeful and determined and her ambition to come out as the cop who helped filter out dirty cops gives rise to much of the events in the 3rd season. Gray believes that Luther is dirty and gets involved with the obsessive George Stark.

Psych! In the uk, a series called Luther the main character drives a beat up old Volvo. This is because the series is run by the bbc and they don’t like to be seen to be advertising and want impartiality.

A vigilante killer targeting men on bail shoots Ripley in the chest and he dies from his injuries in the penultimate episode of the series. Ripley was loyal to DCI John Luther and would always fight for what was right.

When asked if he was sad about no longer being in the programme, Warren commented: “No, it was a fantastic job and to go out with a big bang at the end of series three was fantastic.”
