Sometimes, your camera will not turn on when the flashlight is turned on.

Google first introduced a flashlight toggle with Android 5.0 Lollipop, located right in the quick settings. To access it, all you have to do is pull down the notification bar, find the toggle, and tap on it. The flashlight will be turned on instantly, and you can toggle it right back off when you no longer need it.

How to turn on the flashlight on an Android using Quick Settings

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the Quick Settings icons.
2. Find the “Flashlight” icon and tap it. The flashlight should come on instantly.
3. Tap the Flashlight icon a second time to turn it off.

Users are also unable to turn on or off the flashlight due to the warning stating that the camera light is being used by another app. According to some users, some app you installed that has camera permission is probably glitching and inappropriately keeping the camera occupied. Try to use in Safe Mode.

Restart your computer. If the camera still does not work in Zoom after restarting, check if the camera works in a Mac app, such as Photo Booth or Facetime. If it works elsewhere, uninstall the Zoom client and reinstall the latest version from our Download Center.

You can easily check the video status by looking at the camera icon on the bottom left of your Zoom Meeting window. The video icon has two different meanings: Your Camera is Turned On If you see a white camera on a black background, it means your camera is working and others should be able to see you.

First, head to settings on the Zoom app. If you aren’t currently on a call, the settings ‘cog’ is in the top right corner of the app. If you’re already in a call, hit the up arrow next to the video button in the bottom left corner. You can check if your camera is enabled by following these steps:

1. Go to Settings > Privacy.
2. Go to Camera > enable Let apps use my camera and select which apps can access it.

To check which apps are using your webcam:

1. Launch the Settings app from the Start menu.
2. Click Privacy > Camera.
3. Apps which are using your camera will display “Currently using” below their name.

If you can’t find your camera, select the Action menu, then select Scan for hardware changes. Wait for it to scan and reinstall updated drivers, restart your device, then try opening the Camera app again. If these steps don’t fix your issue, continue to the next steps.

Unlock camera on Windows Defender

1. Open Windows Defender Settings.
2. Select Virus & threat protection.
3. Go to Virus & threat protection settings.
4. Click Add or remove exclusions.
5. Select the app you want to have access to your webcam.

Yes, that’s right, the antivirus software might block the webcam. If everything works without problems it means that the antivirus was blocking the camera app, so you will have to add a new exclusion within the antivirus program (for the webcam app itself or for the apps that are trying to access your webcam).

Configuring The Camera Settings On the main screen of the application, locate and click on the Internet & Network option. Now, a window titled Internet & Network will open. Check whether the Webcam Protection option is enabled. If not, enable it.

Android Chrome

1. On your Android device, open the Chrome app .
2. To the right of the address bar, tap More (triple dots) > Settings.
3. Tap Site Settings.
4. Tap Microphone or Camera.
5. Tap to turn the microphone or camera on or off.
6. Look for Daily.co under the Blocked list.
7. Unblock BOTH camera and mic!
