GoPro’s new Bluetooth® remote—aptly named The Remote—is everything you’ve been waiting for to control your GoPro from afar. It can control up to 5 GoPro cameras simultaneously from as far as 200 feet away. And, it uses Bluetooth® Low Energy for maximum battery life and easy pairing with your camera.

Press and hold the Power/Mode button on the remote for about 8 to 10 seconds. The remote will power off and can then be powered back on if that’s what you want to do.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Transfer the software to your camera’s SD card.
2. Insert the SD card back into your camera and power it on.
3. Power on your remote. The update should start automatically. Your remote will let you know when the update is complete.
4. Press the Shutter button on your remote to restart.

Re: Ditch the Wifi The GoPro app uses both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to connect to the GoPro camera, however, both technologies are used in different contexts. Wi-Fi is still used for connect and control, preview, etc. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is used for initial set-up and staying connected with camera.

How to Connect GoPro to Your Android Phone

1. Download the Quik app from the Google Play Store.
2. Once the app is downloaded and installed on your Android device, you need to pair your GoPro camera to your device.
3. Depending on the model of GoPro you have, you want to select either Pair or Connection to pair it through Quik.
