The Grotto is one of the most popular scenic destinations in all of Ontario. This is an area of rocky cliffs and carved out caves along the Georgian Bay side of Bruce Peninsula. Although it’s not possible to swim in or explore the caves right now, The Grotto is still beautiful enough to warrant a visit.

To get to the Grotto, you will have to hike the Georgian Bay Trail from P1 of Cyprus Lake Campground. It takes roughly 45 minutes with younger kids. It can be done in 30 minutes if walking at a good pace. The portion of the Bruce Trail leading to the Grotto does require some climbing over slippery rocks and tree roots.

Q. Can you get to the grotto without parking?

Access to the Grotto and Cyprus Lake area for day-use requires a parking reservation. Access into the Grotto cave is closed since physical distancing is not possible. The view of the cave can still be enjoyed from above.
