Google Translate can now translate text in images through your phone’s camera. The feature means users can, for example, use their Android phone’s camera to take a picture of a menu in a foreign language, then have the app translate the text into their own tongue.

Translate what you find through your camera

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Translate app .
2. If needed, select your source and target languages. At the top left: Select the source language you want to translate or tap Detect language.
3. Tap Camera Instant .
4. Point your camera at the text you want to translate.

How to recognize text in japanese language?

1. Upload images or PDFs. Select files from Computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, URL or by dragging it on the page.
2. Choose output format. Choose .doc or any other format you need as a result (more than 10 text formats supported)
3. Convert & download.

3. Translate Scanned Document. Now, the scanned PDF file should be editable after performing OCR.

Translate text within a photo or image

1. Go to the Photos app and select a photo, or select an image online.
2. Touch and hold a word and move the grab points to adjust the selection.
3. Tap Translate. You may need to tap Continue, then choose a language to translate in, or tap Change Language.

How to Perform a Text Line OCR Capture

1. Position your mouse pointer on or near the line of text to capture.
2. Press the Text Line OCR Capture hotkey (Windows Key + E).
3. Capture2Text will outline the captured text and save the OCR result to the clipboard.

With your PDF open in Google Docs, click on Tools and select Translate Document. You can then choose your desired language and click on Translate. The results will be generated in a new PDF file with both the original and translated versions included.

Translate a document

1. On your computer, open a document in Google Docs.
2. In the top menu, click Tools. Translate document.
3. Enter a name for the translated document and select a language.
4. Click Translate.
5. A translated copy of your document will open in a new window. You can also see this copy in your Google Drive.
