You just go to the post, hover over the privacy setting and then select the setting you want. You can also choose the “Friends except…” option to block certain people or lists from seeing what you post (you can do this when creating a post, too).

To change this, click on “Friends” in your profile, then click on the edit button (The pencil icon on the top right), click on “edit privacy”. You can then change “who can see your friend list?” and “who can see the people you follow?” to “Only Me”. Then click “Done”.

Here’s how to make an account that’s as private as possible: Next, go into the Facebook account settings > Privacy. There are a couple of categories with a few options under each. Under “Who can see my stuff?”, you’ll have a choice of Public, Friends, Only Me, and Custom.

If you hide a post from your Timeline, your friend will not be notified that you hid the post.

Only you and your friends can post on your timeline. To prevent your friends from posting on your timeline: Scroll down to Privacy and tap Timeline and Tagging.

Clicking the “Hide from Timeline” or “Hide from Page” button immediately removes the selected story, photo or update from view. However, using the hide feature doesn’t delete the item completely; the hidden story will still appear in other places on Facebook, including news feeds and in search results.

How can I tell if a friend has restricted me from seeing their posts? The only way you can tell for sure is to ask someone else if they can see any posts from that person. If they can see posts that you can’t, then you’ll know that person has blocked you from seeing their posts.

When posting a status update from the News Feed, a new check box appears that says “Hide From Your Timeline.” Clicking the box will mean your post will only show up in the News Feed and search results. And if you try to share a post in the web version, you don’t get the Timeline hiding option.

This means that anything you post using the new “Hide From Your Timeline” feature will appear only in the News Feed, and not directly on your profile page. Statuses you post using this feature will, however, still be visible in search results.

When you hide a photo or post you’re tagged in on your timeline, people won’t be able to see it when they visit your timeline. But the photo or post will still be visible to the audience it’s shared with in other places on Facebook, such as in News Feed or Search.

To hide a post:

1. Go to the post on your Page’s timeline.
2. Click in the top-right corner.
3. Select Hide from Timeline.

Hide All Posts From a Source

1. Go to your Facebook News Feed and navigate to the shared post you don’t want to see.
2. Select the three dots that appear in the top right corner of the post.
3. Select Hide all from [source name]. You’ll no longer see content from that source on your News Feed.

To use this tool:

1. Click “V” at the top right of any Facebook page and choose Settings.
2. Select Privacy from the left menu.
3. Under the Who can see my stuff? section, click Limit the audience for posts I’ve shared with friends of friends or Public?
4. Click Limit Old Posts.

If you put someone to restriction list, this user doesn’t see your comments on your wall. That’s one of the expected behaviors. But if you comment an entry in a page or write into the wall of a friend, this user still sees these entries. I want him to not see anything.

Facebook also has a tool to hide public Timeline posts en masse. To do this, navigate to Settings > Privacy > Limit Past Posts. After clicking the Limit Past Posts button, a warning will pop up advising that all your public posts will be converted to Friends only.

Hide your profile from search.

1. Click the Facebook button in the upper-left corner.
2. Select “Edit Profile” at the top of the menu on the left.
3. Click the “Edit” button next to each entry in your profile.
4. Click the “Audience” drop-down menu and select “Only Me” to hide that piece of profile information.

3. Click Add to another list.

Click the arrow next to the “Home” button in the upper right hand corner of Facebook. Head to Privacy Settings, then scroll down to “Limit the Audience for Past Posts”. Click “Manage Past Post Visibility” and click the “Limit Old Posts” button. This will make all your past posts visible to Friends Only.

Make Your Timeline Private The first step to Facebook privacy is making your profile, or Timeline, private. To view hidden/private Facebook photos or posts of Facebook profiles, just go to the Facebook search bar then search the URL of that profile, after clicking on the search button check all of the tagged photos from different profiles, just click on the date of post. Visit the Google Chrome web store and install ‘Social Revealer’ After installation, open your Facebook account by logging in at facebook.com. Proceed to the profile of the person’s friends list you want to see. Now open the ”Social Revealer” extension and click on “See Friends”

The number of mutual friends now includes mutual friends whose accounts have been disabled, but these friends are not displayed. Also, if the person’s full list of friends is hidden to you, a mutual friend who also has their full list of friends hidden to you will not be displayed as a mutual friend.

You’ll find this in the sidebar on the left side of the page under the “Intro” and “Photos” sections. Click the Recently Added tab. You’ll see this above the list of friends with “Mutual Friends.” This displays the person’s most recent friend additions.
