Get 5 pieces of wood (2x5x20cm or so)that you can tape/screw under the 5 legs of the star, with holes just big enough that the stems of the casters fit snugly. Then put the stems of the casters into the holes in the wood, which should be somewhat more lasting than the plastic only.

1. Start with a box, the smaller the better.
2. Cut the box in half.
3. Poke holes, front and rear in the box.
4. Cut four wheels out of cardboard.
5. Insert pencils through the holes and make sure that the pencils can turn freely.
6. Cut two “V” shaped notches in the front of the car.

For the wheels: Some items that would be good for the wheels are candy gum balls, carrot slices, plastic caps, life savers candy, buttons, some beads, thread spools, vcr spools (take apart a vcr tape that isn’t used any more), metal washers, CDs or DVDs, cardboard tubes (cut into smaller pieces).

You can add casters to any chair if the legs are built sturdy enough to support them. It is best if the chair has horizontal supports no more than any eight inches above the floor as adding casters will put pressure on the legs to spread them.

(Lock it down. The best way to anchor a caster to a wood base is to use lag screws and washers.)

Best way to replace caster wheels

1. Fill the holes with wood filler and drill new holes to fit.
2. Fill the holes with wood filler and then insert the new metal bases while the wood filler is still wet, basically gluing them in.

One way to adjust caster is with an adjustable arm. In the case of a MacPherson strut system this can be in the form of an adjustable tension rod that holds the lower arm forwards or backwards in the wheel arch. The screw can be adjusted to move the wheel forwards or backwards adjusting the caster angle.
