It is a markedly more cohesive and enjoyable album than I believed him capable of creating at this juncture. Jesus Is King nods to a handful of moments from the past 15 years of West’s career. The gospel-soul sample deployed on “God Is” harkens to his early days as an in-house producer at Roc-A-Fella.

The Powerful Eternal King. As the King, Jesus is All-Powerful, He is omnipotent. When Jesus says He is going to do something, He does it because He is omnipotent. Jesus has said that He is coming again to judge the world in righteousness.

By all conventional measures, Kanye West’s Jesus Is King is a success. The rapper’s latest album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 264,000 equivalent album units, of which 109,000 were traditional album sales, Billboard reports. West ties Eminem for the most consecutive No.

Kanye was inspired to record the album in Africa, which led to the unknown timeline for Yandhi’s release. He was inspired to take the album abroad, which pushed back recording because of the sudden location change. Currently in 2020, the album has still not been released officially.

Release date: Unfortunately for ‘Ye fans, the album did not drop as promised on September 29. On Monday, October 1, West’s wife Kim Kardashian tweeted that YANDHI will arrive on Black Friday – November 23, 2018 – adding “TRUST ME it is worth the wait.”
