To avoid lost mail remember that in order to deliver an envelope the postal service only needs to be able to read the street address and the postal code. I would suggest that the recipient’s name and city/state be written in cursive while the street address and postal code be printed in a more legible hand.

Include a guest option for plus ones.

1. The word “guest” is only used when you don’t know the guest’s name. If you do know the name, write the name out under the first one.
2. You could choose to leave the “and guest” for the inner envelope. Leaving it out can make the outer envelope feel more personal.
