Setting up your TV’s audio output will allow you to control the soundbar’s volume using your remote. Once the output is set up, you can then choose to connect either a digital optical cable or an HDMI cable to the soundbar. Now you can use your TV remote to adjust volume and mute the soundbar.

Step 1 : Switch on your ILIVE SOUNDBAR set. Step 2: Hold your universal Soundbar remote to face your Ilive Soundbar you wish to program. Step 3: Find the ‘Menu’ option on your universal remote. Press on to the ‘Settings’ button and ‘Program Remote’ then choose ‘SOUND’ or any device you wish to program.

To pair an external device to your iLive soundbar via Bluetooth, first turn on your soundbar. Then, locate the “BT” button or Bluetooth button on the remote. Select the Bluetooth source then press “Pair” on the side of the soundbar.

1. Navigate to your TV’s sound menu.

3. Select TV Sound Output.
4. Select Receiver.
5. Press and hold the SOUND button on the soundbar remote.
6. Continue holding until ON – TV REMOTE appears on the display.
7. To deactivate this feature, press and hold the SOUND button on the remote.

On your TV, navigate to Home, select Settings, select Sound, select Expert Settings, select Wireless Speaker Manager, and then select Bluetooth Audio Devices. Select your soundbar from the list. When the TV is connected, [TV Name] → BT appears on the soundbar’s front display.

Press Menu on your DIRECTV remote. On the on-screen menu, select Parental Favs & Setup > System Setup > Remote or Remote Control > Program Remote. Select the device (DVD/Blu-ray player, DVR, gaming console, soundbar, TV, etc.) that you want the remote to control.

Reset the soundbar. Reset the soundbar by powering it off and then pressing and holding the Play/Pause button until it displays ‘INIT OK’. Power on the soundbar, and then try pairing the soundbar to your TV again.

Make sure that Control for HDMI or BRAVIA Sync of your TV and audio device is set to ON. Make sure that the ARC feature of your audio device is set to ON or AUTO. Verify that sound is output from the TV after turning on the TV and then the audio device. Make sure that your audio device is set to TV input.

If you’ve connected your television set to the soundbar using a cable but there’s no audio, the most likely cause of the problem is an improper cable connection or a malfunctioning cable. If the speaker is turned on and there’s no audio, first check the connection.

Can you use ARC? Check the HDMI connections on the back of your TV, sound bar, or receiver. If the HDMI port has ARC, it should be marked as such. Both your TV and the sound bar/receiver must have ARC for it to work.

Using both HDMI and optical may induce echo. Thanks alexoiu, you mean HDMI ARC from TV have to connect to this converter box. From box both HDMI and optical can take in same time.

The Biggest Difference: HDMI is better because it’s capable of passing higher-resolution audio that’s uncompressed, which includes extra formats that won’t translate as well through optical cable and S/PDIF like Blu-Ray’s DTS HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD. Optical can’t transmit those formats.

Turn off or mute your television’s internal speakers to allow your soundbar’s quality sound to shine through. Use HDMI (ARC) or other high-quality cables to relay audio signals to your Soundbar. Adjust your equalizer settings, if possible, to ensure your soundbar is optimally programmed for your specific audio source.
