Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) doesn’t provide online facility to change the journey date. The facility of preponing or postponing the journey date of a confirmed/RAC /waitlisted ticket can be availed only once at a station counter.

If you want to change Boarding Point after ticket booking, then follow these steps

1. Go to MY ACCOUNT >> My Transactions >> Booked Ticket History.
2. Select the ticket for which you want to change the Boarding Station and select the Change Boarding Point button.

In case there is a change in the date of journey, a passenger can get a modified ticket by only paying the reservation charges. Before that, passengers had to get their journey postponed at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of train for which the ticket had been booked.

In case a passenger has changed the boarding point he will lose all the rights to board the train from the original boarding point. Boarding point change is allowed only once, said IRCTC. 3. Boarding station can be changed before 24 hours of the scheduled departure of train, mentioned IRCTC on its website.

In order to change the boarding point, a passenger with a window ticket (hard copy) can write a request to the station from where the train originates. Passengers with an e-ticket can visit the IRCTC website to make the changes prior to the release of the chart.

Login to IRCTC website, with your login ID and password. Go to ‘Booking Ticket History’. Select your train and go for change boarding point, the new page will open up. Select the new boarding station from the drop-down, under change boarding station section.

Passengers who have booked e-tickets can change their boarding station online up to 24 hours before the scheduled departure of train. The facility to change the boarding station is only applicable to tickets booked online, and not for tickets booked through travel agents or Passenger Reservation System.

Passenger who has booked etickets can change his Boarding station online before 24 hours of the scheduled departure of the train w.e.f. 28-Jan-2016. Boarding point change is allowed only once. Boarding station can be changed before 24 hours of the scheduled departure of train.

Furthermore, as of now, the tatkal ticket holders are permitted to change the boarding point either via the IRCTC webpage or by submitting a written request at the station 48 hours before the train’s departure. Henceforth, even tatkal passengers can change the boarding point.

1. Log in to the IRCTC website with your login ID and password.
2. Click on the option ‘Booking Ticket History’.
3. You will be redirected to the Booked Train Tickets page.
4. Click on the ‘Change Boarding Point’ button.

IRCTC Boarding Point Change – Online For Login into IRCTC Website with your username & password. Navigate to My Account > My Transactions > Booked Ticket History Select the train ticket to change the boarding Station and Click on the Change Boarding Point button.

Boarding point of e-ticket booked online can be changed: 1. During Ticket Booking 2. After Booking. Steps to Change Boarding Point during ticket booking:  Login by entering your User name and Password.  Provide your desired “From –To” station, “Date of Journey” and “Class” of travel.

Boarding point change of counter ticket would be allowed till charting. Boarding point change of I-ticket is allowed only after it is printed. If boarding station has been changed at the time of booking, then passengers can change boarding station one more time.
