When an unknown person adds you to an Instagram group, you can report them as abuse, spam, or anything else and Instagram will take action on the user profile. Step 1: Open the group conversation you want to leave on your Instagram app and tap on the ‘i’ icon at the top right.

Just goto privacy settings in instagram and untick or uncheck the option of making unknown people add or chat with you in any group. There is no special options to avoid this. But if your account is in privacy mode, then no one can add you in any groups without your permission.

How do I create a new group conversation in Instagram Direct?
