When you play on expert level it is very similar to a real drum set in terms of what you play. The actual beats and notes are very accurate.

Turn on the drums with the gray switch found underneath the pads. Hold the “Drum” button and wait for it to flash blue. Press the “Sync” button on the dongle, and then the “sync” button underneath the drum pads. The drums are now ready to use.

It may teach you to play in time, however, without any formal training (be it an instructor or DVDs/drum books) you may end up picking up bad habits instead of learning correct technique. Rock band is not a substitute for actually learning.

Its a great learning tool for someone who can’t afford a brand new drum set (nice one’s are so expensive), but it doesn’t help you with a key ingredient in drumming; dynamics.

Drums are one of four instruments available to play. It, along with the Vocals, debuted in Guitar Hero World Tour. These can be either Guitar Hero drums, or Rock Band drums.

In terms of judging the games regardless of price, I think that Rock Band 4 is the better multiplayer/party game. It simply caters to multiple players more effectively than Guitar Hero Live, and is a more fun game overall. As a single-player experience, though, Guitar Hero Live beats Rock Band 4 by a nose.

However, if you averaged them out, Guitar Hero as a franchise is much more challenging than Rock Band. All things considered, though, Guitar Hero tends to have more complex charts on Medium and Hard than Rock Band does, so up-and-coming players looking for a challenge will have more fun on them.

Each of the popular Guitar Hero rhythm-based video games comes with between 50 and 60 licensed songs you can play. However, you can also download new songs to play in the game, which is a way to add some spark to the pastime. Some songs are free, but others carry a fee.
