A female can become pregnant as soon as she enters her first heat. This can be as young as 6 months old. However, a female should be at least 2 years old before she is bred.

The average is three pups per litter. This can change due to breeding circumstances and the mom herself. Many toys only have one puppy and a few that may have up to five, although that is rare. If you want a toy poodle puppy, then find a reputable breeder and book ahead as the litters are small and in demand.

The main difference between the Toy Poodle and the Miniature Poodle is their size. The Miniature Poodle stands slightly taller, at 15 inches and under at their shoulder. Whereas, the Toy Poodle is smaller, only measuring up to 10 inches when fully grown. Both breeds, however, have the same proportions.
