Estonians are seen as culturally similar to Finns. The Estonian language is similar to Finnish and both Finns and Estonians have a common origin that stretches back to several millennium ago in the Northern Russia and Ural. Sometimes Estonia is referred as the little brother of Finland.

Estonia is a former republic of the USSR. It is bound by Latvia to the south, Russia to the east, the Baltic Sea to the west and the Gulf of Finland to the north….

Finland-Estonia relations are foreign relations between Finland and Estonia. Both countries restored diplomatic relations on August 29, 1991. Finland has an embassy in Tallinn and an honorary consulate in Tartu. Both countries are full members of the Council of the Baltic Sea States, European Union and the Eurozone.

Schengen area consists of 26 European countries (of which 22 are EU States): Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and The Netherlands along with Iceland.

As noted above, the UK does not have to join the Schengen system. Due to EU rules on free movement of people, the UK must admit EU citizens and their family members, unless there is some indication (perhaps in the Schengen Information System) that they are wanted persons or that they are using stolen passports.

The easiest Schengen countries to apply for a Schengen visa from, are as follows:

• Lithuania. Lithuania is the easiest country to get a Schengen visa from, with only 1.3% of the short-term applications rejected in 2018.
• Estonia.
• Finland.
• Iceland.
• Latvia.
• Poland.
• Slovakia.
• Czech Republic.
